Oncology Pharmacist at Global Medical City Hospital
Job Duties
- Review and validate the prescribed oncology drug orders for appropriateness before dispensing to the hospital patient care units.
- Work collaboratively with hematology/oncology physicians and nursing staff to develop medical guidelines, provide quality patient care appropriate for the patient’s oncologic diagnosis & treatment, and make evidence-based decisions designed to improve patient care.
- Preparation and quality-check of I.V. sterile chemotherapy medications under aseptic technique and in reference to the standardized guidelines.
- Perform rounds to monitor the medication administration process.
- Ensure safety in the compounding and dispensing of chemotherapy, maintain an adequate supply of medications, minimize drug waste, and minimize unnecessary exposure to hazardous drugs.
- Prevent, identify, and resolve drug-related problems to assure patient safety & improve patient satisfaction.
- Make the proper documentation for medication errors or interventions.
- Ensure implementation and compliance with GMC policies & procedures related to proper medication storage conditions in the hospital (storage in a safe, appropriate, and secured way).

Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences.
- 1-3 years of experience in the same position in a private hospital.
- Postgraduate Degree in Clinical Pharmacy (Pharm-D, BCOP, or Diploma) is preferred.
- Excellent Pharmacological knowledge of medications (indications, dosing, precautions, drug interactions, adverse reactions & side effects).
- Strong presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent computer skills.
- Decision-making regarding the clinical judgment process.
